2nd Round Pick Wright Signs; Thomas Close

With camp starting for the Browns Friday, the team looks as if it will have number one pick Joe Thomas in camp on time. Wright Rumors are going around that Thomas, the number three pick in the April draft, is close to signing, and that the team should be able to make that announcement late tonight or early Friday. The teams second pick – cornerback Eric Wright, is in the fold, as sources are reporting the multi-year deal for Wright is signed and sealed, and that he will be on the field Friday.  The team has looked hard at putting Wright in right away, as he played very well during the teams mini-camps.  If that is the case, he will start at right corner opposite left corner Leigh Bodden.  Right is 5-foot-11, 190 pounds.  Below is the Bio on Wright:

UNLV: Became the first UNLV football player in history to leave school early to enter the NFL Draft when he announced on Dec. 26, 2006, his decision to not play his senior season … A quick, glue-like defender, who became eligible to play this past season after transferring to UNLV from USC and sitting out a full season.
