Cleveland Browns outside linebacker Willie McGinest underwent back surgery on Thursday. McGinest had the surgery to correct a bulging disc and is expected to miss the next six-weeks of action. Head coach Romeo Crennel said the Browns had no immediate plans to put McGinest on the injured reserve list. On another injury note, left guard Eric Steinbach will miss at least two-weeks of action, after suffering a sprained right knee Tuesday at practice. Crennel is expecting Steinbach to make a full recovery, and be ready for the start of the regular season on September 9th against Pittsburgh. Odds are that Lennie Friedman will start at left guard for all four preseason games.
