Cornerback Bodden Arrested for Airport Incident

Four days before the Browns open their season vs the Steelers, the team suffered a blowBodden on Wednesday as starting cornerback Leigh Bodden was arrested for driving his SUV in reverse down a one-way street at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.  He then gave some verbal abuse to police officers on the scene, and was arrested.  The 25-year-old refused to stop the vehicle, and then after a back and forth, Bodden started to resist arrest when officers tried to put handcuffs on him.

“He (Bodden) indicated he was there to pick up his people, whoever his people are,” police Lt. Thomas Stacho said.  Bodden was booked on aggravated disorderly conducted and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, and traffic offenses of failing to produce a driver’s license and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.  Bodden was signed him to a four-year contract extension in 2005 after coming to the Browns as an undrafted free agent back in 2003.  He started 9 games last season and would have played more but had ankle problems last season.
