Lewis’ Status Uncertain For Sunday Against Miami

The Cleveland Browns received a setback Sunday when starting running back Jamal Lewis suffered a foot injury in the team’s 34-17 loss to the New England Patriots. Lewis was injured in the first quarter on their first offensive series, when he ran for 11 yards on 1 carry. The severity of the injury isn’t known as of yet and the Browns hope to clarify that situation later on today.
Lewis told James Walker of the Columbus Dispatch, “I don’t really know what’s wrong with it. It’s nothing really major. I just really didn’t want to go back out there and do something worse to it.” Should Lewis not be able to start aginst Miami next week, reserve RB Jason Wright more than likely would get the start, spelled by Jerome Harrison.
