Despite the Loss, Cleveland Should be Proud

Ben and DA Postgame

Nobody gave the Browns a shot against the Steelers, including Las Vegas who had Cleveland as 9.5 point underdogs. But the Browns showed the Steelers and their fans that they are for real. Cleveland dominated the first 3 quarters of the football game. Surprisingly, the defense even showed up; holding the high-powered Pittsburgh offense to only FG’s in the first half. The offense was as good as Cleveland fans could have expected too, they put up points and made the Steelers score a TD at the end of the game in order to win. The Browns also had a chance to tie or win the game at the end. There is no reason to persecute Romeo for challenging Pittsburgh’s go-ahead TD and losing a timeout that would have been valuable. If the Browns wouldn’t have lost a timeout because they lost that challenge they would have gotten the ball with more than 2 minutes to play on the clock. But again, Its not Romeo’s fault; you have to challenge that play because of how much it means to the game.

The Browns were just a few feet away from pushing the game into OT and possibly winning it. The Cleveland players swore to us that they were a much different team than they were when they faced the Steelers in week 1 and they were right. The biggest problem for the Browns in week 1 was turnovers and sacks. Cleveland was sacked 6 times and turned the ball over a whopping 5 times. This time they only turned the ball over once, a Jamal Lewis fumble that Pittsburgh converted to a FG, and allowed 0 SACKS. The Browns showed that they have fixed the glaring problems that would have kept them out of contention for a playoff spot. Now, the Browns must play mistake-free football and win almost every single one of the next games in order to put themselves in the running for a wild-card spot. the coolest thing about that is that, Today the Browns showed us that they can play great football and, God-willing, win enough games to make into the post-season. All in all, be proud of your Browns; they are a legit contender in the NFL.

**With the injury to Adrian Peterson, Rookie LT Joe Thomas is now one of the frontrunners for rookie of the year. Thomas has been playing great and hasn’t given up a sack this season.
