DE Smith questionable vs. Ravens Sunday

It is acknowledged that the Cleveland Browns, as a team, are pretty much going towards a youth movement on their defensive line, with veteran defensive end Orpheus Roye seeing increasingly limited playing time as the season progresses. But that “youth movement” will be challenged somewhat, as Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon-Journal reports that DE Shaun Smith hurt his knee during Thursday’s practice and is being listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Romeo Crennel, Browns head coach added, ”It’s sore, and there is no operation needed. He’s day to day.” Smith, prior to the injury, had started at left defensive end for the Browns for the past four games. Crennel said that should Smith not be available, Louis Leonard would be used at defensive tackle if DT Ethan Kelley is needed at DE.
