Crennel Brushes Off Rumors Of Heading to Miami

While quarterback talk seemed to be the focus of the media day on Wednesday, Browns head coach Romeo Crennel had to do some answering of his own. The coach responded to an internet report that stated that he was new Dolphins VP of Football Operations Bill Parcells’ choice to coach the Dolphins next season. Crennel says that has two years left on his current contract with the Browns, and that he’s always honored his contract. If Miami did come calling and Crennel did take up Parcells on the offer, the Dolphins would have to compensate the Browns since Crennel is under contract.

Personally I think Crennel can go to Miami. He is supposed to be a defensive minded coach. Look at our defense. Ranked 32nd? Chud has done a great job with the offense but Grantham and Crennel have done nothing with the defense. The Browns have a high powered offense. Now we need some defensive stability. McGinest, Davis, Jackson and Wimbley are a formidible linebacking crew, but the defensive backfield needs alot of help and the line could use some too. Concentraye on the defense this draft. I’ve said from the beginning of the year that Anderson was not the guy and I still believe that. Trade him for some draft picks and use them for defensice picks. GO BROWNIES !!
