Cleveland Browns Jerseys

Browns … Once a Dynasty

Jim Brown

The Cleveland Browns entered the AAFC in 1946. They went on to win the championship with a 12 – 2 record. They outscored their opponents 423 – 137. Then again in 1947, 1948, and 1949. Going 12 – 1 – 1 and outscoring opponents 410 – 185 in 1947, then again in 1948 going 15 – 0. That’s right 14 – 0 in the regular season and winning the championship by outscoring their opponents 389 – 190, and again in 1949 by going 9 – 1 – 2 and outscoring opponents 339 – 171.

The Browns went 29 games in a row from 10/19/47 to 10/9/49 without a single loss. That’s 10 days short of 2 full years. They had 2 ties in there but no losses. That’s dynasty material to me, and that’s not the end of it. The Browns entered the NFL in 1950 and played in the NFL championship game the first 6 years they were in the NFL., winning 3 of them. How many other NFL teams have been in the championship game 6 consecutive years? As a matter of fact the Browns played in the championship game every single year in their first 10 years of existence, winning 7 times. Can Pittsburgh, Chicago, New England, Green Bay or Dallas say that?

I think the NFL should recognize the Browns as a one time dynasty also. The Super Bowl is coming our way one of these days, but let’s just be satisfied with the playoffs now. GO BROWNS !!!!!
