Giving up DA would be the stupidest thing the Browns could possibly do. We have two QBs who might turn out to be really good. Odds are one of them will turn out to be a solid, excellent QB. Odds are that both of them, however, will not be. Let's keep them both and see if DA is for real, and if not we try out Brady.

DA had a phenomenal season for someone with little to no experience, but can use some improvement in his short passing. He showed great maturity and poise given his experience. Yes, he screwed up a couple of times, but all players do; Cleveland fans are way, way too quick to give up on players. And Dan, you were bitching about not seeing a Cleveland team win in forty years -- well, maybe you should not be so quick to give up on a player, especially after the season DA had. Give me a break.

Brady may turn out to be a great NFL QB, but may turn out to be a bust -- Tim Couch, Akili Smith, David Klingler, etc. etc., there are tons of QBs who have been drafted high and turned out to be worthless pros. Betting the franchise on Brady would be a stupid, stupid thing to do at this point, when we also have DA.

We are in a great situation, but getting rid of either of them would be dumb.

Good article and I agree 100% on resigning Lewis ASAP and trading Anderson for draft picks. Youve got to be wise in this new parity oriented NFL. This is the "year of the quarterback" and the shortage of good starting quarterbacks around the league is the Browns good fortune. Two big d-linemen and the Browns can find themselves playing in late January.
