Report: Anderson to Get Offered Long-Term Deal

For Browns fans calling for Brady Quinn to start in 2008, not so fast. It least it appears that way, as ESPN insider Chris Mortensen is reporting that the team is going to take a look at getting QB Derek Anderson, a Pro Bowl alternate, signed long-term before he becomes an unrestricted free agent near the end of February. DA didn’t exactly have the best last month of the season, as the team wrapped up 2-2 in the month and missed a playoff spot, but he did throw 29 TD’s and could wind up in Hawaii with an injury or refusal to play by an AFC QB. So what does the future hold for Quinn? Likely a clipboard and commercials running on a treadmill drinking protein shakes.

There are a lot of options available to the Browns with their abundance of good QB’s. I hope they deal one of the two good ones and pick up a retread for a song!
