Plenty of Possibilities as Free Agency Nears for Browns

Winslow

First, the good news … Kellen Winslow only needed his knee cleaned out and is being rehabbed now, and may not need to have his shoulder operated on, which he separated in the Oakland game. Lewis was re signed for an estimated $17 million for 3 years. And, LeCharles Bentley is expected to be in the off season program, mini camp, OTA’s and training camp. That’s all good news.

Chaun Thompson and Ethan Kelley are unrestricted free agents as of Friday. Thompson may want to be a starter somewhere else and Kelley had off season knee surgery. So the Browns have to decide on whether or not to keep him. Roye is 35 and signed through this season for $3 million. Since he was injured a lot this past season, he may choose to retire.

This all takes me back to my desire to trade Anderson for a 1st and 3rd round pick and pick up some defensive linemen, or maybe a lineman and a linebacker. I also see where the Browns may be interested in wide receiver Troy Williamson of the Vikings, whom coach Brad Childress, gave permission to his agent to shop him around for a possible trade. He has been a disappointment since he was drafted 7th overall in the 2005 draft. The Browns should already be set at wide receiver, so I think they should look more at shoring up the defense. GO BROWNS !!!
