The Plain Dealer is reporting that Bears deep-threat receiver Bernard Berrian will be on the Browns radar screen if he becomes a free agent next week, a source at the NFL Scouting Combine said Saturday. Berrian, a fifth-year pro, caught 71 passes for 951 yards and five touchdowns for the Bears last season. They considered franchising him, but didn’t. Berrian would give the Browns a speedy wideout to pair with Braylon Edwards and help stretch the field. He had 4.47 speed coming out of Fresno State in 2004, when he was picked in the third round by Chicago.
