Teams Want Anderson? Talks Continue on a Three-Year Deal
Posted by Matt Loede on February 28th, 2008 in News
ESPN’s John Clayton reports that teams in need of QBs are beginning to show interest in restricted free agent Derek Anderson. Clayton says the teams may even be willing to offer first- and third-round picks for the big armed 24-year-old. The Browns still hope to finalize a three-year contract, but talks will go down to the wire on Thursday. It’s believed that the two sides have agreed to a three-year deal, but are still working on the amount of guaranteed money and total dollars of the contract. Reports on Wednesday indicated that the Browns had offered $20 million with $10 million of that being guaranteed. Anderson can become a restricted free agent if a deal can’t be done today.
