A sub par mediocre 1st half for the Browns. It all started with DA bobbling a snap on 3rd and 1, for no gain and a punt. Defensive back field stopped absolutely nothing in the half. Adams blitzed from the def. backfield and ran right past Jason Witten, who was wide open for a 1st down catch. Edwards dropped a long pass right in his hands.
The announcers mentioned the lack of conditioning, which is the same thing I have been saying all pre season. I have been stating that coach Crennel has been too easy on the players and giving them too much time off. Personally I think Crennel is too soft to be a head coach.
2nd quarter started to look up for awhile. DA hit Winslow for a 2 yard TD. Then McDonald got burned by TO on a TD pass. Edwards dropped 3 more passes in the 2nd quarter that hit him in the hands. Defensive line has put no pressure on Romo yet. Corey Williams had a sack but McDonald was flagged for “illegal hands to the face” on the same play. Sack no good ! DA started rushing his passes this quarter and Andre Davis had an interception hit him in the chest and dropped it. Winslow had a decent half, Lewis had a couple nice runs, but the best thing about the 1st half is that the Browns are ONLY 2 TD’s down.
Defense started the 3rd quarter looking tough, putting a lot of pressure on Romo. It didn’t last long though. DA missed a open Edwards and the BOOing started. Whitten continued to burn the def backfield and linebackers. McDonald got flagged agaion for “illegal hands to the face”. Romo has been eating the Browns for lunch, as he continues to move up and down the field, obstruction free. Just like pre season we have penalties, penalties, and more penalties. Wright had an interception and Lewis had a 24 yard run.
Facemask call against the Browns on a good Lewis run.. They did not just shoot their selves in the foot, the blew their whole leg off. McDonald has been burned several times, Rogers gets a defensive holding call against him, and the fans are BOOING !!!! Edwards needs fined for the stupid penalties and dropped passes. He has at least 4 dropped passes he should have caught. Pack your bags and head home, sit and watch the miserable highlights, and listen to Crennel say, ” next week will be different”. I’ll be back a little later to write my first “to do list”.
