Cleveland Browns Jerseys

I’m Back and So is Quinn

I have been telling all the die hard DA fans that they are wrong, that DA is not the man. It has been confirmed by the Browns, that Quinn will get the start Thursday against the Broncos. I will admit that DA has a cannon for an arm but his accuracy is heavily questioned. I’m going to to rub some salt into the wound now. This is out of 32 starters in the NFL.

DA is 23rd in passing yds with 1454. He is on pace for 2908 yards for the year, compared to 3787 last year. He is ranked 30th in QB rating, with 68.9, compared to 82.5 last year. He is ranked 31st in completion %, with 49.8, compared to last years 56.5. He is 14th in TD passes with 9 and on pace for 18 this year compared to 29 last year.

He is 8th in interceptions with 7 and on pace for 14 for the year compared to 19 last year. That is his only improvement. I have only seen 3 or 4 times that the line was to blame for DA getting sacked. I have seen him scramble the wrong way and run right into the defensive lineman. I see him get flustered and stand there. I have seen him over throw and under throw several times when there is no pressure.

Chudzinski still needs to go though. What is up with every single 2nd and 10 or 2nd and 15, running Lewis right up the gut for a 2 yard gain? That leaves anywhere from 3rd and 8 to 3rd and 13. No QB can consistently convert 3rd downs with that many yards to get. As a team they are only converting 3rd downs at a 35% rate. I still say, get Harrison the ball more. Tucker needs some help to. With the multi million dollar defensive line we have we should be averaging 5 sacks a game.

Come on coach, let’s mix it up a little. I don’t understand why they go into the “prevent defense” every time they get a lead. The defense had us in the game against the Ravens, but when we get a lead you throw a 3 man rush at them. Take note Tucker!! You need to pressure the QB. I don’t care if you have 1 man rushing and 10 defensive backs defending, if you let any pro QB stand back there and eat lunch while he’s standing there, he will find an open receiver. Cut the prevent and start throwing different stunts and schemes at them.

Edwards? Have you ever heard of “stick em”? That bomb you missed Sunday right in your hands while in stride is unforgivable. Braylon leads all NFL receivers in dropped passes. Fine him !! I’m getting the impression that Winslow doesn’t want to be here either. Before you let him get away with nothing in return, trade him for someone of value or a couple nice draft picks. I still say Crennel needs to be put back at defensive coordinator, Chudzinski fired, Tucker moved to “locker room” attendant, and bring Cowher out of retirement and put him in the head coach position.

After all, he played for the Browns. So he has some ties here. I think Quinn will be an improvement over DA, but we have to remember, this will be his first start in the regular season. He is our QB of the future so lets give him some time and room to grow. The offensive line coach needs to open up some holes for the backs too. Right up the gut hasn’t lead to anything thus far. Let’s get it together Thursday night.
