I like this hiring of Kokinis, and I am disappointed that SOME of the media have already started the "gloom and doom". If you look at what makes a good GM, Kokinis has most of those qualities. Nobody is going to have everything. Give this a chance to work. As a die-hard season ticket holder, I share the frustration, but give this new group of coaches and front office personnel a fair shake. And what is with the constant criticism of Randy Lerner for being an owner who avoids the cameras? Who cares? He is the owner - he cuts the cheques - he leaves the day to day stuff to others as many very successful owners do. Watch what you wish for - a camera hungry egocentric who interferes in everything and takes credit for all that is good and blames all that is bad on everyone else - we all know NFL owners who fit that category - in fact some would argue we have had one in Cleveland. Lerner did what he promised the fans: he hired a head coach with experience and a good track record and a GM with player personnel experience with a winning franchise. That's all Randy can do other than keep the purse strings open. Now it's up to the draft, the coaches and the players. I am confident of nothing except one thing - at the end of next season Steelers, Ravens and Bengals fans will not have the same reaction when we say "Go Browns!" We might not win the division or even place second, but the brown and orange will be more than a punch-drunk team going sideways.
