The Browns today dumped a couple of QB’s that were called upon to play in emergency situations near the end of their disaster of a 4-12 season. The team announced that Ken Dorsey’s contract was terminated, and Bruce Gradkowski was waived. Also gone are Antwan Peek and Terry Cousin, whose contracts were terminated. Also waived were punter Mike Dragosavich, kicker Jason Reda and offensive lineman Eric Young.
Dorsey was the Browns’ third quarterback for most of the past three seasons but started three games in 2008 after Derek Anderson was hurt in the Colts home loss. Dorsey then himself suffered a season-ending injury against Cincinnati during the teams 14-0 loss on December 21st. He went to injured-reserve and in stepped Gradkowski, who was with the team less than four weeks before starting the season finale in Pittsburgh. Gradkowski threw for 18 yards that day in the teams 31-0 loss to end the season.
Best news all day. Remember that performance by Dorsey against the Bengals? Wow. I never thought it could get that bad…go Brady.
