Source Reports that the Browns Will Sign LB David Bowens

The Browns are once again becoming more like the New York Jets day-by-day. According to the Newark Star Ledger, the Browns are close to inking linebacker David Bowens, a former Jets LB.

A source told the paper that Bowen’s is not interested in going back to the Jets, and that barring anything crazy, he’ll sign with Cleveland in the next few days.

The Jets released Bowens last month in a move that wiped his $2 million base salary off the books, were interested in re-signing him at a lower salary.

  1. Clayton says:

Bowens is almost 32 years old. He has played for 5 pro Teams. He is average size for an LB. Again, like I said with Mosley, this pick-up would do little in my opinion to address our most pressing need – pass rush.
