Tight end Brad Cieslak has been released by Cleveland, according to ESPN. New head coach Eric Mangini has been cleaning house and apparently Cieslak wasn’t in his plans for the future. It remains to be seen if Cieslak will be able to latch on somewhere else.

Another special teamer out of a job. I thought Cieslak gave us some good depth.
I guess we will find some former Jet to fill his role. Or maybe, Kokinis wants to use one of our multitude of draft picks to address the gaping hole at the TE position.
Actually TE we are not too bad. We have Rucker, Heiden and Royal. Now as far as losing a Special Teamer is another story. That has been our only consistant good portion of our team. I am more worried about the lack of receivers that can hold onto the ball. Letting JJ go before spring training was stupid before seeing what he can do.
Now what do we have for WRs, “Butterfingers don’t pick on me Braylon” and “Dante I get paid while I am always hurt” Stallworth. That and some LBs are what we need.
I don’t see any problem with this cut. We picked up Royal and we still have Heiden who are both starter calibre. Rucker can back-up. Tight ends should be the least of our concerns at draft time. I do like the other pick-up on the O-Line. The awful performance last year in the middle and the right side needs to be corrected so that Thomas and Steinbach are not carrying the whole line. It matters not who you have throwing and catching the football if there are only two seconds to throw and nowhere to run.
where is Royal now? Cieslak was an amazing player, young and upcoming. Big mistake for cutting him.. Then again I guess the browns are use to losing, wouldn’t want to break the streak keeping a great TE like this on the roster.. Eric Mangini is an idiot.
