Browns Lose RB Jason Wright to the Cardinals
Posted by Matt Loede on March 16th, 2009 in News
The Browns have lost one of their free agents, as running back Jason Wright today agreed today to a two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Wright will join the team and fill the void left by the departure of third-down back J.J. Arrington, who signed with the Broncos.
Wright spent the past four seasons with the Browns. He had 22 receptions for 156 yards and one touchdown and 23 carries for 85 yards in 2008. An undrafted free agent out of Northwestern, Wright, 26, had his best season in 2007, rushing 60 times for 277 yards and catching 24 passes for 233 yards.

This is no real loss. Jason is a nice kid but he did virtually nothing last season. We don’t need perennial back-ups with limited carries. This is not a three RB squad.

This has ruined my entire week. He was fast, but just never had quite what the Browns were looking for.
