Browns Visiting w/ Former Bears OT John St. Clair
Posted by Matt Loede on March 16th, 2009 in News

Reports say that the Browns are visiting today with former Bears offensive tackle John St. Clair. The Browns last week dumped last seasons right tackle Kevin Shaffer, and need a player to help out on that offensive line. Reports say that the Bears though would like St. Clair back, and that Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo has offered St. Clair a three-year, $4.5 million deal. So it seems like the Browns would have to up that offer if they want St. Clair’s services.

Go for it. Pork Chop, Thomas, Steinbach and St. Clair would combine to help fortify our O-Line. Don’t let St. Clair’s age at 31 kid you. He has anchored the Bears’ offensive line for years. He started every game for Chicago last season. His energy is still good. He can play more than one position on the line. You know he’s valuable when the more astute sports media in Chicago are criticizing the Bears for not making sure he stays put. We could get him for not much more than what he was offered by Chicago.
