With Eric Mangini saying that the QB position is up for grabs between Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn, could Mangini want Brett Favre to come to the Browns?
Probably not.
But, that evidently won’t stop Mangini from making a circus atmosphere in Cleveland during camp, as Sporting News, per the NY Daily News, reports that Mangini will ask Favre to come and be a guest at Browns camp this summer.
Brett Favre just might make an appearance at an NFL training camp this summer — as a guest of new Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini. Mangini told the New York Daily News that he and Favre have been text messaging since they last saw each other December 29, the day the Jets fired Mangini and the day after Favre played his final NFL game. The two are discussing Favre joining Mangini at Browns camp this summer.
Just what a team that has already undergone a number of offseason issues needs – Brett Favre roaming the sidelines being asked by every reporter if he is going to comeback. Ugh.

I love the idea of keeping Anderson and Quinn on their toes, but not at any expense. We know Favre would never agree to come out of retirement again to be the certain back-up. So he is either coming to be a mentor and help with some training; I have no problem with that as long as it is done behind the scenes. Or he is coming to actually compete for the starting job – of course not. The guy threw the same number of ITs last year as TDs. His stats were below his career averages almost across the board. No thanks.
Brett, just GO AWAY! DA already throws too many Ints, he doesn’t need Favre to show him how to throw more. Retire already!
The Browns could probably use the kinda of atmospher Brett will bring to the camps. But bringing in Brett to mentor will still not be enough for the Browns to reach the playoffs…who dey
SCREW U! THE BENGALS SUCK! GEEZ! THE BROWNS COULD REACH THE PLAYOFFS FASTER THAN THE BENGALS COULD EVER!
