The Browns search for a new set of pass catchers continues, as the team worked out North Carolina receiver Hakeem Nicks Monday, and will talk with Georgia’s Mohamed Massaquoi today and and Rutgers’ Kenny Britt on Thursday. Of course the rumors continue about the team looking very hard at Michael Crabtree at five. There also a theory that the Giants will pick a WR with their first-round pick, and then the team will move that player to the Browns straight up with another late pick for Braylon Edwards. We shall see.

If Edwards is traded to the Giants for Smith or Dixon plus draft picks including New York’s current 29th pick, then Hakeem Nicks is a solid choice for that 29th pick. Crabtree and Britt will be gone by then. Nicks played the best Bowl game of any WR in college football this past year, scoring 3 TDs and catching several big passes for huge yards. And he is a decent size.
