A report from Adam Caplan over at Scout.com states that the Browns are going to talk to and give a workout to former Titan and Rams WR Drew Bennett. He’s played in the league for eight seasons, and his best season was 2004 when he caught 80 passes for 1247 yards and 11 scores with the Titans. He played for Tennessee for six seasons before joining the Rams two years ago. In 2008, Bennett played in just one game with one catch for four yards.

I don’t know about Bennett per se, but I do agree that it is smart for the Browns to continue to pick up one or two more receivers with pro experience before the season starts. Robiskie and Massaquoi will undoubtedly both develop into very good players, but with the loss of Winslow and Joey J. and the current Stallworth situation and the Edwards debate, we need more depth and experience at the receiver position.
Yes, I think the cards are still close to the vest with the BE situation. With him not being in camp or the workouts i wonder still. If he truely is ‘made up’ with the new coaches that’s fine. But if he’s still blaming everyone but him….the trades aren’t done.
Go Brian.
