The Browns will have their first rookie mini-camp starting on Friday, but on Thursday were busy making a couple of roster moves coming out of last weekend’s draft.
The team made a waiver claim of former Pats LB Bo Ruud, who was released by New England this week. Ruud is the brother of Bucs LB Barrett Ruud, but has not gotten a shot to do much so far in the league.
Ruud was a Patriots sixth-round draft pick from Nebraska. The 6?3,” 235-pounder spent his rookie campaign on injured reserve for the Pats.
He started 33 games with 216 tackles at Nebraska, and recorded 4 1/2 sacks and 25 tackles for losses with a total of five interceptions.
The Browns today also cut running back Allen Patrick, a former Ravens draft pick from the University of Oklahoma.

If Ruud could stay healthy he could develop into a pretty good pro linebacker. At Nebraska, he received All-Big 12 honours and he was one of the best on the Team for tackles. He was a big reason why the Cornhuskers were among the best in the Big 12 in rushing and scoring defense.
