Browns Sign Safety Bret Lockett, Waive Four Players

The Browns have announced wave of Monday transactions, including the signing of a player who tried out during a weekend rookie minicamp. The new arrival is safety Bret Lockett, who earned four letters at UCLA. The Browns also waived safety Corey Boudreaux, receiver Brent Casteel, tight end Mike Massey, and cornerback Antonio Smith.

Lockett put up some decent numbers with the Bruins. In 2008, he was third on a pretty good team in tackles – 61 tackles over 11 games. What I like is that he is bigger than most other secondary players that we acquired recently – 6 feet one inch tall and 210 pounds.
