The Clock Towards Opening Day Continues to Tick

It’s only 111 days until the Minnesota Vikings come to town, and the Browns have completed there first two minicamps and there is a lot of positive vibes coming out of Berea.

Brady Quinn has a slight edge on Derek Anderson in the Browns Quarterback competition. Shaun Rogers was in camp, happy and on board with Eric Mangini. There are old and new faces in Berea and it could be the perfect recipe for success.

Eric Mangini expects a lot out of this football team and won’t accept anything but perfection with the addition of referees at almost every practice it should help the Browns cut down on those drive killing penalties that we have seen in the past.

Braylon Edwards was in camp and happy that he is a Brown and is ready to start having fun again playing football and when he is having fun making plays it is usually fun for the fans. If he can catch the ball like he did two years ago, with the offensive line beefed up again and two tight ends that can block the offense looks like it could something to watch out for in the AFC North.

The two negatives coming out of minicamp are the Shaun Smith, who was talked to by the Browns coaches and it was shut up and shape up. Smith did get into a fight with Brady Quinn last year if that shows what type of player he is.

The second being much bigger, as Josh Cribbs didn’t participate in minicamp but was there and had a meeting with Mangini and asked to be traded. The Browns do need to work something out with Cribbs because he does deserve more money for what he has done for this team.

The Shaun Smith thing is not a negative. He got disciplined, finally. This guy needs to step up and start doing something on the defensive line. Until then, he can put his nose to the ground and his mouth closed. And the Team has outwilled Cribbs – I bet that Josh and his agent now realize that the new faces in Berea will not relent, and that his only chance at getting a better contract is to play well this season and then negotiate in 2010.

So far we have Rogers, Edwards and Anderson all singing the same tune. And now Cribbs returns to minicamp. Tough love seems to work sometimes.

And when did his official title become ‘browns receiver’???

I think Shaun Smith is garbage……..all he does is run his mouth…..he doesnt do shit on defense. When the whole “quiter rumor” started in the middle of last season it was rumored that smith was the one who quit in the Denver game that was robed from Quinn……(I think he scored me 23 fantasy points that game)

as for that fat ass hitting Quinn……HAHAHAHAH thats funny poor brady got hit in the face. Its a ruff sport emotions run high…..I love Quinn’s potential but he is to pretty boy to be a cleveland QB….look at Kosar he looked like a homeless man…..poor pretty boy brady got hit…..awwww
