Josh Cribbs is a treat to watch every Sunday wearing the Brown and Orange. The Browns special teamer this year is going to have a bigger role on the team playing on both sides of the ball in the fall.

Although the Kent State product wants a new contract he is here working out with his teammates getting ready for this 2009 season. Cribbs since day one has talked about how much he loves playing for this team and fans.

Although he probably isn’t getting paid in football terms that much money Cribbs has showed up to camp for this team, city, fans, and himself. Instead of waiting to July win Training Camp begins and holding out Cribbs has sat down talked to Mangini and is here playing football in Berea. Maybe the attitude he has will catch on to the other players on this team. Here is what Mangini and Cribbs had to say….

“This is really his second day working with the group so we will stay on offense and then we will figure out defensively when he can get some reps, how we want to sort that out,” Mangini said. “I am looking at it more as kind of (a chance to) carve out a role there, get a niche there and move to the next step and figure it out as we go.

“I envision that role to be whatever he decides it should be. Just like all of these players, you don’t go in saying, ‘He is just going to be in this group of plays.’ I never look at it with limits or walls. I look at it more as potential and the player defines how potentially big the role is.”

“I’m back in practice, getting the hang of everything,” he said. “They’re working me in there. I feel good. I’m just happy to be out on the field with the guys.

“I’m concentrating on football.”
