We just finished our mini-camp and we’re out until training camp sometime at the end of July, we haven’t gotten the exact date yet. I’m staying in Cleveland this week to get settled in.

Mini-camp went well, the defense looked good, guys were flying around making plays and seemed to really grasp the system. The guys are understanding their roles and what Coach Ryan and Coach Mangini expect from them.

The offense looked pretty good too and got a lot of stuff installed. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season.

We have a veteran defense with a number of guys who have been around and have been a great example for younger players like myself, including Eric Barton, David Bowens and Shaun Rogers. They set a great example of how to prepare to practice and play the game.

Knowing how to prepare is very important. You want to make sure when you go out there and execute your job and that all your bases are covered. Being prepared allows you to react on the field without having to think too much because you’re doing something that you’re familiar with. You can play much faster if you’re prepared.
