Lewis Says He Played Most of 08 on a Bad Ankle

NFL/
Jamal Lewis now says he played much of the 2008 season with an injured ankle but was able to play the entire season and had surgery during the offseason. When asked if his ankle hurt last season, Lewis said: “A whole lot. But at the same time I worked through it. The trainers were able to keep me rolling. I knew I had to get something done at the end of the season. It wasn’t something that would take me out for the whole season.”

  1. Clayton says:

There are a lot of guys in the NFL who exaggerate injuries to compensate for mediocre performances. I for one believe Lewis because he has always been a fairly straight-up guy with a legendary work ethic. I think that he will have a better season in 2009 because the new regime will give him more help in the back-field.
