Edwards Placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury List

Pro Football Weekly reports that the Browns will start camp with WR Braylon Edwards on the active / non-football injury list:

The Browns placed WR Braylon Edwards on the active / non-football injury list on Tuesday.

Browns director of public relations Neal Gulkis told PFW that Edwards, who is injured, was required to report on Monday, but he did not report, and the Browns placed him on the reserve / did not report list. However, Edwards arrived on Tuesday and was switched to the active / non-football injury list. He counts against the Browns’ 80-man roster but has to pass a physical before he is cleared to play.

Gulkis declined to disclosed the nature of Edwards’ injury. The star wide receiver missed some practice time during offseason workouts with an undisclosed injury.

In other Browns news, the club placed rookie CB Coye Francies on the active / non-football injury list and placed rookie OG Marlon Davis on the reserve / left squad list.

Hopefully, the injury is not that serious. I have been part of the chorus that knocked Braylon for his performance last season, however, the prospect of starting the year with a few seasoned vets who are not really starters and two draftees make me a little nervous.
