Abe Elam Talks About His First Night in the Pound
My first game in the Dawg Pound, it was great, man. The fans are amazing, it was a great atmosphere, like a regular season game. Hearing the fans chant your name, and Welcome to the Dawg Pound, was definitely a good feeling.
It was a good win for us, a chance to go out there and fly around. We played well and the offense did as well. I had a nice tackle and a forced fumble but it was overturned on replay. My guy Josh Cribbs returned a punt for a touchdown and had a long kickoff return nullified by a penalty. The offense scored on their first drive.
Even though it was preseason, anytime they’re keeping score, I want to win.
We did some good things and that continued today on the practice field as well. The idea now is to continue to improve and build on what we did in the preseason game.
We’ve got Tennessee this week and that’s a new challenge. Chris Johnson is one of the fastest backs in the league, LenDale White complements him and Kerry Collins is a solid quarterback who has been in this league a long time.

I like Elam’s energy and his enthusiasm. And I like his Team attitude that he has displayed consistently since arriving in Cleveland. It would have been nice, however, if he had admitted that he was responsible for the penalty that he refers to which nullified the Cribbs’ 95-yard KO return for a TD!
