Ready for 2009-2010

Matt is 100% right. This is Quinn’s team, and the fans will usher Mangini right out of the stadium if Quinn doesn’t start. I love the way some of the rookies have stepped up and some of the recent acquisitions from other teams have filled a void. Veterans such as Barton, Mosley, Furrey, Coye, and the rookies such as Davis, Massaquoi, Mack, Maiava, and Veikune have all played well.

There have been some veterans also step up. I realize this is only preseason, but handling the Titans the way we did gives me some hope for a successful year. Maybe not playoffs, but since the Browns have been back, that’s something I have grown accustom to. There is hope on an improving team though.

Both QB’s performed well but Quinn stood head and shoulders above DA. Mangini should have named the starter weeks ago, but they have handled the challenge well. I have thought Lewis, all along, had another great year or two in his tank. I am seriously starting to wonder now. He has not done anything thus far. Unless they’re making him lay back and not use too much energy, but I have yet to see if Mangini is that smart.

Edwards seems to be back to form. He’s holding onto the ball. That one pass where he was shoved out of bounds where he caught the ball with one hand was a thing of beauty. CONCENTRATE Braylon, you can do it. Harrison better watch out with Davis in the lineup. Davis has some quickness through the hole too. Against the Titans we did create some pass rush but still not a lot of sacks. Ryan has not come through with his guarantee as of yet. Rogers will be a big help but the rest of the D line has to perform too.

They need to get Cribbs some more money. Kick off return artist, wide receiver, leading tackler on special teams and now defensive back? Maybe he can coach or kick FG’s too. All for the same salary? Yah, right. He has proven to be the team’s spark plug. Reward him for it. Has anyone else on this entire team brought the excitement Cribbs has? We have about 2 more weeks to fine tune this system, so put your nose to the grindstone and “GIT ER DONE”. GO BROWNS! ! !

  1. Clayton says:

Right on, Dan. The pass rush will improve when Rogers gets in the game. Even when he doesn’t get to the QB, he often takes up two offensive linemen which opens gaps for blitzing LBs.
