The greatest improvement is typically between week one and week two. We'll know a lot more at the end of next Sunday. I'm willing to adopt a "wait-and-see" attitude until then. Lots of pretty good QBs looked pretty shaky in the early years. But, tackling still remains absurdly poor. Execution on offense looks amateurish and on defense too often non-existent. And, they did try a screen which Minnesota blew up with a monster rush -- which is precisely the type of thing the screen is supposed to exploit. No hurry-up offense to speak of. It seems to me it would have kept those big defensive tackles running & gas them out -- especially on drives where they were running and moving the ball. Line'em up and run it again -- or play action. Whatever. I have never won an NFL game yet, so what do I know?

My take on week 1, what did I expect? (the same outcome)
Looking in Browns book of records, Kosars' stats were below par for his 4th start, so maybe Quinn will do a bit more in the weeks to come.

Overall i gave the "D" an A in the first half, and a F- in the second half, which I can put on Ryan. The D should have played the same plan in the 1st half until it was exposed, then changed, not to what they changed to. The Offensive game plan should have been the same with Royals, more screens to Vickers Lewis and Davis, then expose the agressiveness with Edwards and Cribbs. I was happy with special teams play for the most part, giving them a "B" The 1st half shows promise (I hope)for the future. Overall I give the Browns a D- for this game, and hope they do better next week in Denver.
