There's no reason you should give up 180 yards to any back when the team completed less than 10 passes more than 6 yards down the field. Hopefully we can steal a game or 2 out of those teams you mentioned, but with what we've got, I don't see us winning any more than 5 games this season. Not based on our performance yesterday, just based on the talent we have. Favre has 1 superbowl ring, not that it matters, just saying.

Try to relax a little. I know we're all used to the Browns doing terrible every year, but game one isn't the time to start moaning about another doomed season. A lot of people are picking the Vikings to make the playoffs--they have a solid defense, the best running back in the league, and a quarterback with several Super Bowl rings and something to prove. I think we'll get a better sense of whether the Browns have anything to offer in the next four weeks when we play teams we should have a realistic chance of beating (Broncos, Bengals, and Bills--excluding the Ravens).

Haha. I know how you feel Dennis. Every 12 seconds Cribbs has the ball, I'm excited. So, about 1 minute of every game. I'm rooting for my fantasy players this year to keep my mind off the Browns lol

I love football season, but have to admit that I follow it more closely when the teams I want to do well actually do well. Not this year, it seems. Or last year. Or the year before. Or the year before that. Etc., etc. Fortunately, we enjoy pretty decent weather around these parts until late October, so we can always find something outside to do, coming in now and then to see how bad things are progressing. Sometimes, I watch these guys out of a sense of morbid curiosity -- sort of like watching a really bad movie or Chris Farley doing a Chippendale's dance -- the "I'm repulsed but I can't look away" syndrome. Meanwhile, fans of teams like Baltimore and Pittsburgh can enjoy another strong run -- one with a second-year QB. We're reduced (again) to "celebrating" our punter and achieving ridiculous "moral victories" on a selected play basis. Yawn.
