Browns Post Game Notes

  • Wide receiver Joshua Cribbs took sole possession as the Browns’ all-time leader in kick return scores with his 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the second quarter. Cribbs has eight career kick return scores (six on kickoffs), including three all-time kickoff return touchdowns against the Steelers. Cribbs passed Eric Metcalf who had seven career return touchdowns for the Browns. It was Cribbs’ first kickoff return for a touchdown since a 92-yard score against Baltimore on November 2, 2008. Cribbs has returned a kickoff for a touchdown in every year of his five-year career.
  • With Cribbs’ 26 yard punt return in the first quarter, he became the 20th player in NFL history to amass 7,000 career return yards.  Cribbs has logged 6,161 career kickoff return yards and 975 career punt return yards for 7,136 career return yards.
  • Fullback Lawrence Vickers hauled in his third career touchdown with a one-yard score in the third quarter. All three of Vickers’ career touchdown receptions have come against the Steelers.
  • Wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi recorded a career-long with a 43-yard pass in the third quarter. The Browns scored on a one-yard touchdown pass on the ensuing play.
  • Today’s contest marked the 100th career game for defensive back Hank Poteat.
  • The Browns defense forced a season-high four turnovers, the most since they recorded four turnovers at Buffalo on November 17, 2008. Cleveland has forced seven turnovers in the last two games.
  • Defensive back Brodney Pool posted his second interception of the season in the third quarter. He has nine career interceptions, with two against Pittsburgh.
  • Linebacker Jason Trusnik picked up his first career start in place of Kamerion Wimbley, who was inactive with the flu. Trusnik posted his first career sack in the fourth quarter. Wimbley had his streak of consecutive starts snapped at 51 contests. Defensive back Brandon McDonald also recorded his first career sack in the fourth quarter. Linebacker David Bowens recorded his first sack of the season in the first quarter. Appearing in his 90th consecutive game since the 2003 season, Bowens has 33.5 career sacks.
  • Linebacker Alex Hall registered his first career fumble recovery when he fell on a fumbled snap in the first quarter. Defensive back Brandon McDonald forced his second career fumble in the third quarter, which was recovered by defensive back Abram Elam, the second of his career. Linebacker Kaluka Maiava forced his first career fumble in the third quarter, which was recovered by linebacker David Bowens, his seventh career recovery.
  • Offensive lineman Joe Thomas has started all 38 career games at left tackle since joining the Browns in 2007.
  • Punter Dave Zastudil recorded three punts inside the 20-yard line. Over the past two games, 10 of his 14 punts have been downed inside the 20-yard line.
