Cleveland Browns Jerseys

Quotes from the Browns Locker Room

Tight end Robert Royal

(On the team being thin a tight end and him returning from his injury)- “I definitely have to be smart about the situation. It was a hamstring and it just happened last week. At the same time, as you said, we definitely are thin at the position and I feel like I can help the team if I can go. I am going to try my best to do whatever I can and try to push it today. If everything turns out the way we planned on it, then I’ll be just fine.”

(On how to improve the offense)- “The main thing is, we all just have to go out there and all be on the same page. We have to be in the proper spot when the quarterback is ready to throw the ball to us. We definitely have to make the catch when the quarterback throws the ball to us. Everybody has to do their job on offense for it to work. The linemen have to pick up their guys, the quarterback has to make sure he takes the right drop and gets the ball out at the right time and receivers have to make sure they are in the right area. Until we get everybody on the same page, that’s the way things typically work.”

(On missing this week’s game just to have extra time off before the bye)- “I am pretty sure if anybody got that much time off it would allow them to get a little healthier, but at the end of the day, we are continuing to try to win ball games. That’s the reason why I am here, to try to help the team win. I am not just going to sit out so I can try to get myself healthier for another week if I can play.”

Offensive lineman John St. Clair

(On what he expects from Chicago after their 45-10 loss to Cincinnati)- “I expect them to give their best. I am sure we would get their best anyway. They are playing at home, they play pretty well at home. It’s one of those things where you have to be ready. I know they are going to be amped up.”

(On his familiarity with the Bears)- “You know personnel, I played with those guys the last four years. At the same time, the scheme may be a little different. They have a few new coaches in there. [I] expect a little change. We’ll see what happens. Watching on film, they play fast. [It’s] the same defense that they had in the past. They have some very good athletes and they play really fast so we have to account for that.”

Linebacker Kamerion Wimbley

(On Jay Cutler)- “I think Jay is a very good quarterback. He has shown a lot of really good things in his time in the league. He has a strong arm, he can run. You definitely have to be aware of him and don’t give him anything or else he’ll take advantage of it. He’s a good quarterback.”

(On if he lost momentum by missing the Pittsburgh game)- “Not really. I just go out and approach things the same way that I have before and just play the game. That’s all I can do.”
