I'm not so sure about the Bernie thing. He seems like a nice guy and all, but if his personal life is any indication of the type of decision-making abilities he has, then this does not bode well. A Cowher-type guy as a President is worth chewing over. Don't know if he would be interested in that type of role, but he might. It is not coaching but still intimately involved in building the team from the ashes it is. He has the street cred to command respect and he knows how to coach and therefore how to evaluate potential and existing coaches. One thing is certain, I do not see Mangini as part of this formula in any way, shape or form.

yes i am oh so glad Bernie is in. as to what role he is going to be good for, i'm not sure, but i trust he has the wisdom and experience to put himself in the proper place. as far as cowher, i'm still against him. it's too much like buying a team or a win to me. he's a stealer and will always be. i admit Pres of Ops would be a little easier to take than coach, but there are even better candidates if we take our time, and maybe bernie can help there pick someone out.
and for God's sake, enough already with DA. he seems like a real nice guy, but now even when he hands off they're dropping the ball. he was tentative from the start yesterday. give BQ the ball and see if he developes chemistry and confidence. Da won't be in football a year from his final benching, i'm thinking.

I am so glad that Randy Lerner has finally acknowledged the fans and crept out of the shadows - hearing that he stood in the lower level tunnel and stared down the coaches and the players got me ALL fired op today. This EPIC failure of a season will not go unnoticed, and action is going to be taken. I think he is bringing in a President of Team Operations like Miami did w/ Parcells. I think that's what Cowher may have originally wanted - a Parcells type roll. One thing that is a definite is the Off Coordinator needs to be shown the door. Daboll (sp?) is awful. I know Bernie was just hired on in some capacity, but he can't fill a pres of operations position. Consultant, yes. Pres of Operations, no. I hope Cowher is lured in to straighten this mess of a team out.
