Barton May Have Season Ending Neck Surgery
ESPN reports that linebacker Eric Barton may have season ending neck surgery:
Cleveland Browns veteran linebacker Eric Barton’s season is in jeopardy after he was diagnosed with a neck injury following Sunday’s game, a source close to the player told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen. Barton was informed by a spine specialist at The Cleveland Clinic that he had a bulging disc between the C3 and C4 vertebrae, the source told Mortensen. When Barton left Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears late in the second quarter, it was reported as a right shoulder injury.

I’m sorry to hear this. Hope he recovers well and can find a place on this roster when it improves — and be part of that process. He is a serviceable player on a team that lacks even that overall level of talent.
