With the First Pick of the 2010 NFL Draft..the Cleveland Browns Select…
Posted by Matt Loede on November 13th, 2009 in 2010 NFL Draft
Here’s something to think about – the 2010 NFL Draft. Yes, it’s a for sure that the Browns will have an early pick, but over at out mothership – www.NFLGridironGab.com, they already have a mock draft for the 2010 draft posted, and they have the Browns taking…drum roll please….Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen with the #1 pick. Great, just what we need, another Notre Dame QB.
Here is what the site says:
1.) Browns – Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame: Mangini, or the Browns new coach, decides to choose his own quarterback to rebuild around.

Can everybody please stop saying they will take clausen Im starting to believe they might actually do it! Why would we waste another pick on another quarterback when there are players like Berry and Suh who could make an immediate impact on our dismal defense. Please Browns take Berry!

Amen, Brother Brisco. Three years ago I spent most of draft season screaming at the top of my lungs about the fact everyone was saying we’d take either Adrian Peterson or Brady Quinn at 3. My boy was Thomas because I was convinced that if we took either Peterson or Quinn that high, we’d promptly get them dead. We ended up with Thomas as I wanted and at least we’ve been able to keep our QB’s alive.
This year, I’m with you about taking a marquee defender. Don’t follow the college game that closely so don’t know this Berry guy that well. Will have to do some homework on him. But what about that big ole stud D Lineman at Alabama? Grady? Cody? Something like that. Is he draft eligible? Would he be considered to have the heart to match the versatility?
Because that’s what we need. That Junior Seau, Ray Lewis (man I hate citing him but it’s true), spiritual leader for the defense. That guy who absolutely refuses to let us lose. And if he can have that Fridge/Jesse Sapolu versatility the Alabama guy does, all the better.
