Joe Thomas recently has come out and called out Steelers LineBacker James Harrison for flopping on plays. Thomas said when the linebacker realizes he can’t get to the Quarterback he will over dramatize and flop hoping for a holding call. “It was my mistake for not talking to the refs before the game because it shows up on tape over and over again,” Thomas said. “I don’t know if he has a reputation yet, but I know after this year he will.” Harrison has not commented back on Thomas’ acquisitions but it will be interesting the next time these two meet.

We see this in professional field team sports all the time, most notably in soccer, especially in the World Cup. I guess it is part of the game, but in soccer flops are often faked injuries to slow the run of the game, to gain an advantage or eliminate a disadvantage.
