Before Coach Mangini came to Cleveland, he built this years New York Jets team. He put together the best offensive line in NFL either through the NFL draft of free agency. Mangini brought that ball control and good defense mentality to the New York Jets. Mangini was never on board with Brett Favre coming to the Jets and there was always that power struggle between the two. Other then some additions to this years team and there was more talent added to this team in the offseason the Jets probably wouldn’t be where they are today if Coach Mangini didn’t coach the Jets prior to Ryan.
Does Mangini Deserve Some Credit for the 2009 Jets?

absolutely. the ryan brothers will go on to show that they are the talen they are, which is defensive coaches, and good ones. but once braylon drops the game winner this week and they are out of the playoffs, this team will level off as the over achievers that they are, all under the guidance of their very vocal, very pumped up coach. but that only goes so far, and so many games, and for so long. and it is about to all come crashing down.
The Jets backed into the playoffs, as I see it. Before playing Cincy and the Colts — both teams which did not play for anything more than a paycheck at the time, they were a .500 team. Indy is not the Bengals and while I was surprised they beat the Chargers, you have to take into account the Chargers long history of play-off chokes. Will Braylon have a good game? Frankly, who cares? He is not here and were are glad he is not here. He may be a talent, but he is not a professional by any stretch. My hope is that we just be quiet and wish him well. We have seen him and know him for what he is — and what he is not. So be it. We have better things to do that worry about one former player on a team that has ridden a monster wave so far.
Credit for taking all the lousy Jets and making them Browns?! I’ll give him credit if he achieves something with the Browns!
Don’t look for any trades with the Jets this year.
I believe we still have a 3rd & 5th in this years draft for Braylon. Maybe that trade might still work out,but I believe you are correct. We got fleeced in the Sanchez trade.
