Browns Won’t Bring WR Donte’ Stallworth Back

The Plain Dealer reports today that there’s no way the Browns are bringing back WR Donte’ Stallworth:

The Browns have no intention of bringing back receiver Donte’ Stallworth when his one-year suspension is lifted by Commissioner Roger Goodell after the Super Bowl. It will be the first major decision on a player to be made by the new Browns regime of President Mike Holmgren and General Manager Tom Heckert, and it will not be a hard one. There would be no impact on the salary cap by releasing him because the league is expected to abolish the salary cap system in March as a result of failed negotiations to extend the current labor agreement.

    OK. So be it.

I know he was injured most of 08,but he does have talent. When he was healthy he was unproductive, but look who was throwing to him(DA). They need to acquire some talent at WR because all they have is castoffs and unproven young guys. The guy with the terrorist sounding name [Mohamed Mossaqui? sorry I can't spell good]could turn out to be a good #2 guy, but that’s about it. The rumor about them trading for A.Bolden turns me off because he is injury prone.
