You know, I'm not even 100% sold on our need for a quarterback. Granted, DA's done. But I wouldn't say that was because he failed his tryout. I'd say he passed his in 07. More that the concussion in the 08 preseason ruined him.

But Quinn still doesn't have a complete line to protect him or a developed receiving corps to get the ball to. Any argument of him as a failure is understandable but maybe a bit premature. I know Quinn's the QB and a lot gets hung on him as a result. But he's still only one guy.

Getting a new guy we can't protect isn't going to do anything. We'll just have another name to throw under the bus in two or three years. Whether Quinn is ultimately the panacea or not, I'd rather pin my fortunes to him for another year or two while we shore up other spots. Cycling people in and out randomly is loser-think and our dreams for our team won't be worth a plugged nickel until we knock it off.

Don't look for Cleveland to draft a QB before the 3rd round -- but I do see a QB making his way here somewhere in this draft. While I agree that the assessment of needs is accurate, I am not so sure about the priority to fill those needs as set forth in this post, especially when aligned with the available players at the pick numbers this team has.
