Gladiators sign Quarterback with Cleveland Brown Roots….

The Cleveland Gladiators open there season April 3rd hosting the Arizona Rattlers. The Gladiators signed AFL great Jonathon Dutton who is the only Quarterback to lead to different teams to AFL Championships. Dutton was signed by the Browns in 99 and was on the team until he broke his foot in the first week of camp. Dutton has started 80 consecutive games which is the longest streak ever in the AFL. The Gladiators had a great Quarterback in Raymond Philyaw before the AFL stopped in 08. Dutton was a great pickup for the Gladiators and new coach Steve Thonn.

“I’m very excited to be playing for coach [Steve] Thonn,” Dutton said Monday by phone from his home in California. “He’s a great offensive mind and a great person. Plus, I get the opportunity to play in front of fans who know and love their football.””We simply have one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the arena game,” Thonn said. “The support the Gladiators had from the community in 2008 made this a very attractive offer for him.””I have tremendous respect for what John has done in our league over nine years,” Gladiators special advisor Bernie Kosar said. “He is a gifted player who has an understanding of the position, but also is a well-rounded guy off the field.” From
