Browns select Shawn Lauvao with the 92nd pick

Browns selected Shawn Lauvao a guard  from Arizona State. Lauvao stands at 6’3″ and weighs 305 Ilbs. Lauvao started 42 games for the Devils and started 33 consecutive games to end his career at Arizona State. Lauvao played both tackle and guard in his college career. Lauvao will add instant depth on the offensive line and hopefully protect McCoy for the next ten years. Go Browns!!!

I guess I’m looking at this draft as a process. Evaluation of it is best taken as a group, not as individuals so much. Obviously, there is a plan for this team and it is in full execution. First, obtain quality starters through free agency; plug whatever holes you can — via positional upgrade — there. Second, draft for talent within need. TJ Ward and Hardesty — anyone else surprised at first? Then, look at what these guys bring. Ward is projected as an NFL starter by all accounts. So, you obtain a starting free safety in the second round. How can that be bad? Hardesty in the context of our current RB corps makes sense, too. He might be a wonderful addition. Another realistic starter — even if in situational mode. Then McCoy and this guy. Think: Bob McKay, Doug Dieken. I’m a firm believer that a team should draft OL in the first three rounds — ALWAYS. We have definitely upgraded several positions immediately and finally have a QB situation that has gone from tragically inept to NFL-caliber foundation. So far, I feel good.
