Cleveland Browns Jerseys

Browns not thought of very highly by Peter King

For those of you that don’t regularly read Peter King’s ‘Monday Morning QB’ column on, your missing out. King remains to me about the strongest writer in the NFL, and every week this column never lets me down when it comes to the pulse of the league.

Today he did his power rankings, which is pretty funny considering the time of the year. He had the Packers ranked #1, which is intriguing to say the least, but guess who he says is at #29? You guessed it:

29. Cleveland. Still can’t believe the Browns paid Jake Delhomme $7 million to play quarterback this year. For a team I rank so low, there’s a lot about Cleveland I like, though the passing game is not one of those things.

Until they show up, this is what they deserve. To me, it would piss me off royally to know that the “experts” around the league don’t think very much of my team. If I’m a player, I’d be thinking: “Hey, wait a minute. I’m on that team.” I’d look around and note that, while things may not be perfect and there are still places where a serious playmaker is needed, there is, at least, some talent around here, and a front office that seems to know what it is doing.

I’m on the other end of the spectrum, I find King to be an idiot who spews the opinions of others, gets info from an insider here or there and regurgatates it. Last year he had the Saints at 24! and look at his top five, he had, and has no clue.

I know that we cant trade Roth because he is the first out of the RFA’s to demand a trade and if we give it to him we lose negotiation power with the others. Then again, I see Leroy Hill wanting out of Seattle and Patrick Crayton wanting out of Dallas. Would it hurt to maybe at least enter into talks with those teams?
