Cole doesn’t think much of the Browns QB’s

Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports! is out with histeam QB rankings. Cole has the team ranked at #31 overall in the league:

31. Cleveland Browns: The Browns purged the roster of Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn early in the offseason and then got Jake Delhomme and drafted Colt McCoy. In short, they got an older (albeit more accomplished) version of the wild-armed Anderson and a guy with far less physical presence than Quinn. McCoy is the future, but he’s unlikely to play this season. And if McCoy doesn’t put on at least 20 pounds, opposing defensive linemen are going to snap him like a chicken wing when he finally does play.

The thing I find instructive here is that he doesn’t even find Seneca Wallace worthy of mention. I know McCoy was drafted to be the future. But Wallace has been respectable when called upon and with what Holmgren organizations have done in the past with afterthought QB’s, I wouldn’t go leaving him out the conservation. Call him a long shot if you want. But surely with a fading Delhomme and a rookie project in McCoy as the other options, he’s got enough of one to merit mentioning.

Ignoring Ratliff I can see. Mangini guy or not, I would imagine you just about have to be related to him to think he stands a chance of being in the mix. But ignoring Wallace?! That’s just sloppy.
