Abe Elam “No Hard Feelings Towards Cleveland.”

From Profootballtalk.com

“There won’t be any hard feelings,” Elam wrote on his website, via the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.  “I hope the fans understand that the NFL is a business and as a professional you have to understand the business part of the game. I’m happy to have a job and be able to play for one of the great football towns in Cleveland.”

Ah, but will the Browns coaching staff hold any hard feelings towards Elam?  After all, they drafted two players at his position this year.

We’re going to go ahead, answer our own question and say Elam should be just fine. Real football starts in August, and the former New York Jet remains an Eric Mangini favorite.

It’s very possible, however, that Elam may have to leave Mangini’s warm embrace next year to get the long-term deal he desires.

The longer we get from the Josh Cribbs stalemate that was solved, the more I appreciate the guy. I really liked the way he handled the media speaking about Le-gone, too.
Business is business; but don’t fall for this anything goes in business, or love and war crap. what you do and how you do it define you.
