Cleveland Browns Jerseys

Its Almost that time Cleveland…..

Training camp is about to kickoff in a few days and this city is dying for a winner. If you are like me you have waited for training camp to start since the team beat the Jaguars the last game at the stadium. The team has added talent at many positions on both sides of the ball. They kept the coaching staff intact and added Holmgren and Heckert to lead this team somewhere it has never been before. They made Josh Cribbs happy this off season with a new contract and drafted some talented players on both side of the ball. So with all that, Browns season is right around the corner and lets get ready for some football. Destination Super Bowl!!!!

In the 50s and 60s, Cleveland was a team that made its reputation on brute strength and electric precision in execution. The sweep with its pulling guard and Jim Brown following was awfully fun to watch. These were Brownies, the men who prowled the overcast fields on late Fall afternoons. No frills. Just execution. Everybody knew what they were going to do most of the time. It was a big “so what?” The Kosar years were the closest thing to approach that since then. I can remember not being phased by third and 15. So far, this incarnation has been but a faint shadow of any of that. This team has no real connection to its heritage — and it shows. It still is suffering — like the child who always blames their parents for whatever failures or shortcomings exist int heir adult lives. At some point, you gotta take responsibility for yourself and break out of whatever prisons you have built for yourself. As I see it, that is what this team needs to do. If you don’t honor your heritage, then there is no past — and therefore no need to be burdened with its ghosts. Make this team stand proudly with the ones who ruled before, and Cleveland will embrace it and the league will have to shut up.
